The alain billard vineyard in Monthélie, near Beaune

A little history...

It was in 1920 that Claude Rossignol, maternal grandfather of Alain Billard , acquired a domain in Volnay and vineyard parcels in Monthélie, Volnay and Volnay 1er Cru.
Mr and Mrs Roger Billard took over operation in 1961 with a total of 4 hectares of vines.

Nowadays…

In 1980, Alain Billard took up the torch of this family heritage to sublimate the production. Passionate about wine world, Alain Billard knew, from the age of 6, he wanted to become a winemaker in his turn.
The parcels of vines, that he manages alone now extend on the municipalities of Monthélie, Meursault, Volnay, Pommard and Beaune.

Each year, the harvest is made entirely by hand in order to continue the tradition and preserve the cultural heritage of the harvesters of the Côte de Beaune (21 Côte d'Or, Burgundy).
